As spring finally seeps through windows, we can finally begin to enjoy the festival season. One of the earliest dates in the calendar is described as one of the cultural highlights of the year as the Beverley and East Riding Early Music Festival presents a whirlwind tour of classical music from across the ages.
The early May Bank Holiday sees up to 2,000 followers of folk, roots and acoustic music arrive for the Filey Folk Festival.

Reminiscent of English Folk revivalists Fairport Convention and Steeleye Span the debut album from Hull group Beggar's Bridge exemplifies the rise in music of the people by the people. A quartet of Hull musicians, inspired and informed by the storytellers and troubadours of trad folk, who sing and play with an authentic celebratory air.
